Βράκα Βάλια

Η Βάλια Βράκα είναι απόφοιτος του Τμήματος Μουσικών σπουδών του Ιονίου Πανεπιστημίου, κάτοχος πτυχίων Αρμονίας, Αντίστιξης και Φούγκας και πτυχιούχος πιάνου. Εργάζεται στη Μεγάλη Μουσική Βιβλιοθήκη «Λίλιαν Βουδούρη» από το 2002, αρχικά ως βοηθός μουσικολόγου στο Αρχείο Μίκη Θεοδωράκη και από το 2006 έως σήμερα εργάζεται ως υπεύθυνη του Αρχείου Ελληνικής Μουσικής. Κατά την διάρκεια όλων αυτών των ετών συμμετείχε σε προγράμματα ψηφιοποίησης αρχειακού υλικού, όπως το πρόγραμμα «Δημιουργία ολοκληρωμένης μονάδας τεκμηρίωσης και προβολής της ελληνικής μουσικής» που χρηματοδοτήθηκε από το επιχειρησιακό πρόγραμμα «Κοινωνία της Πληροφορίας» και εν συνεχεία υπήρξε επικεφαλής της ομάδας που εργάστηκε για τον εμπλουτισμό της ψηφιακής συλλογής που πραγματοποιήθηκε με τη χορηγία της Εθνικής Τραπέζης της Ελλάδος. Επιπλέον συμμετείχε ενεργά στο πρόγραμμα «Ευτέρπη: Ελληνικά τραγούδια για εκπαιδευτική χρήση – Ψηφιακό Μουσικό Ανθολόγιο», έχοντας αναλάβει τη διαλεύκανση των πνευματικών δικαιωμάτων των τραγουδιών. Το διάστημα 2014-2016 ήταν υπεύθυνη της ομάδας ψηφιοποίησης και τεκμηρίωσης, στο πλαίσιο του προγράμματος «ARCH Archival Research and Cultural Heritage: The Theatre Archive of Romeo Castellucci and Societas Raffaello Sanzio». Ήταν μέλος της ομάδας διαχείρισης οπτικοακουστικού υλικού στα Ευρωπαϊκά προγράμματα Europeana Sounds και EuScreenXL. Είναι μέλος της κύριας ερευνητικής ομάδας του έργου «Το Αρχείο του Δημήτρη Παπαϊωάννου» και Υποψήφια Διδάκτωρ Θεατρικών Σπουδών του Πανεπιστημίου Πελοποννήσου.

Valia Vraka works at the Music Library of Greece ‘Lilian Voudouri’ since 2002. In the period 2002-2006 she worked as an assistant musicologist for the Mikis Theodorakis Archive and since 2006 she has been working as a musicologist, head of the Greek Music Archive, having as main object the collection, classification and documentation of the Greek archival material. More specifically, she participated in the group that implemented the programme Creation of a unit of documentation and promotion of Greek music, which was funded by the operational programme ‘Information Society’ (3rd Community Support Frame/CSF, 2000-2006), and, following that, she became the head of the group which worked for the enrichment of the digital collection which was accomplished thanks to a donation of the National Bank of Greece. She has also worked for other digital projects such Εuterpe: Songs for schools - Digital Music Anthology and the European projects Europeana Sounds and EuScreenXL. In the period 2014-2016 she was member of the project ARCH-Archival Research and Cultural Heritage: the Archive of Soc`ιetas Raffaello Sanzio, and since 2018 she is member of the ‘Creative Europe’ project CREARCH: Creative European ARCHives as innovative cultural hubs. Currently, she is a member of the main research team of the project The Archive of Dimitris Papaioannou and a Ph.D. candidate at the Department of Theater Studies of the University of Peloponnese.
