Pedone Silvia

Η Δρ. Σίλβια Πεντόνε είναι ιστορικός τέχνης στην Εθνική Πινακοθήκη της Ρώμης (Galleria Corsini). Είναι διδάκτωρ Ιστορίας της Τέχνης του Πανεπιστημίου της Ρώμης και θέμα της διδακτορικής διατριβής της ήταν τα σχέδια των βυζαντινών μνημείων της Κωνσταντινούπολης του Γάλλου περιηγητή και αρχιτέκτονα Charles Texier (1802-1871). Το 2011 δίδαξε Ιστορία Μεσαιωνικής και Βυζαντινής Τέχνης στο Πανεπιστήμιο “Carlo Bo” στο Urbino. Το 2015 ήταν υπότροφος στο Πανεπιστήμιο του Σαλέντο στην Ιταλία. Το 2015-2016 είναι υπότροφος στο Πανεπιστήμιο Koç. Τα κύρια ερευνητικά της ενδιαφέροντα είναι η βυζαντινή γλυπτική στη Μεσόγειο, η χρήση και αντίληψη του χρώματος στη βυζαντινή τέχνη, η τοπογραφία της Κωνσταντινούπολης και των μνημείων της μέσα από τα έργα δυτικών περιηγητών, η θέση των εικόνων στη βυζαντινή τέχνη, το πρόβλημα των λατρευτικών εικόνων. Έχει δημοσιεύσει πολλές μελέτες πάνω σε αυτά τα θέματα. Πρόσφατα εξέδωσε τον τόμο Phantazontes. Visioni dell’Arte Bizantina (Padova 2013) και πολλούς τόμους της σειράς Sensibilia. Dr Silvia Pedone is an art historian at the National Gallery of Art of Rome (Galleria Corsini). She earned her PhD in Art History at University of Rome, with a dissertation on the drawings of the Byzantine monuments of Constantinople by the French traveler and architect Charles Texier (1802-1871). In 2011 she was adjunct professor of History of Medieval and Byzantine Art at “Carlo Bo” University, Urbino. In 2015 she was research fellow at the University of Salento (Italy). She is currently research fellow at Koç University. Her main topics are Byzantine sculpture in the Mediterranean area, the use and perception of color in Byzantine Art, the topography of Constantinople and its monuments through the works of Western voyagers, the status of images in Byzantine visual culture, the problem of icons and ritual images. She has extensively published on these topics; among her recent publications, Phantazontes. Visioni dell’Arte Bizantina, edited with V. Cantone (Padova 2013), and several volumes of the book series Sensibilia. Colloquium on Perception and Experience.
